Money buckets

Give every pound a purpose.

TrackAm accounts are not bank accounts. They are mental envelopes. A real balance of £500 can become "Rent £200" + "Daily £300" — so each pound has a destination before it leaves your wallet.

Purpose

"Rent fund — protected until the 1st."

Discipline

"Daily spending bucket — what you can move freely this week."

Clarity

"Unallocated — money sitting outside any plan. Decide before it decides for you."

Virtual sub-buckets inside a real account

Add a bucket for rent, a bucket for daily spending, a bucket for that thing you are saving for — all of them living inside your one real bank balance. TrackAm tracks them as separate intentions, so spending one does not silently borrow from the other.

  • No bank account number, sort code, or card details — ever.
  • Atomic transfers between buckets keep the maths honest.
  • A reconciliation flow if your real balance drifts from TrackAm.
  • Every change has a record so you can see what happened and when.

Why buckets work where budgets fail

A budget is a rule. A bucket is a container. The container gives intent before the spend, not after. By the time most budgets notice the overspend, the moment is gone — but a bucket asks you the question while you still have a choice.
