Daily reconciliation

A three-minute ritual that closes the loop.

Most apps assume you remembered to log every spend. TrackAm does not. Each evening, a gentle nudge prompts a quick reconciliation — what you actually have, against what TrackAm thought you had — so small leaks never compound into invisible habits.

Recognise

"Three transactions today match what TrackAm logged. One is missing."

Add

"Log the missing spend — TrackAm offers to link it to an existing subscription if it looks recurring."

Close

"Your books match reality. Tomorrow starts honest."

Per-account balance entry

Pick the accounts you want to reconcile, enter the real end-of-day balance for each, and TrackAm shows you the difference. Anything that matches is dismissed; anything missing is added through a quick wizard.

  • A subscription hint appears when an entry matches an active recurring charge.
  • Negative residual is auto-logged as "Careless Spending" so the book stays accurate.
  • Positive residual is parked in the Unknown Money ledger until you remember the source.

Why a daily ritual changes behaviour

The ritual is not the point — the visibility is. After a week of check-ins, the patterns in what you miss become obvious. The midnight food delivery, the small Sunday tap, the recurring charge you forgot. Suddenly invisible spending stops being invisible.
