Why we built TrackAm
Budgeting apps assume you'll be honest with a spreadsheet at 2am. You won't. We built TrackAm because the people we know didn't need another bar chart — they needed an honest, culturally-aware friend who'd interrupt them before the damage, not summarise it after.
Personal finance software is dominated by tools built for and by people whose biggest financial decision is whether to switch credit cards. That excludes the majority of the world — and almost all of the diaspora.
A 26-year-old developer in London sending money home to Lagos every month. A salaried worker in Nairobi managing cousins' school fees on top of rent. A small-business owner in Accra splitting one bank balance across rent, stock, and family obligations. These users don't show up in the "average user" of a Western budgeting app — and they're penalised by tools that don't speak their language, won't acknowledge Black Tax, and assume a clean separation between "personal" and "family" money that doesn't exist in their lives.
TrackAm is built for that user. It's culturally-aware by default — not as a localisation afterthought.
Reports of how you spent your money last month are too late. TrackAm's most important moment is the 90 seconds between the urge to tap "Send" and the actual transfer. The Pre-Spend Review and Daily Sanity Check are designed to sit in those gaps.
A £10,000 emergency fund means nothing if you'll drain it on impulse over a long weekend. TrackAm tracks the behavioural signals (impulse rate, discipline, recovery speed) that predict whether the balance will survive next month — not just the balance itself.
We don't aggregate your accounts through any bank-connection service. We never see your card. The actual transfer happens in your bank app; TrackAm just gets to weigh in before you tap "Pay" and log the spend after you confirm.
Stingy AI can say "Don't do it" as loud as it wants. It cannot stop you. Every block is a verdict, never an enforcement. Even the strictest mode (Survival) ends every refusal with the same line: "Your call."
Local-first storage on your device, strong encryption end-to-end, and secure cloud infrastructure operating from European data centres only. Full export and permanent deletion are available from inside the app at any time. We're not selling your transaction data — there's nothing to sell.
